Description
This watershed improvement project is located along an unnamed tributary of Camp Creek in the Camp Creek Watershed at Metro Park East Landfill owned by Metro Waste Authority. The Camp Creek watershed has an approximate area of 41 square miles and includes Mitchellville, Polk County, Jasper County, and Marion County and is located just east of Altoona and the Des Moines metro area. This proposed project will help achieve implementation goals and objectives described in the Mud, Camp, and Spring Creek Watershed Management Plan and the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy, including address soil and water quality issues and increase community support and awareness.
