Description
The City of Ames (City) long-range transportation plan includes a multi-phased Grand Avenue Extension Project. The current phase extends Grand Avenue from its current terminus across Squaw Creek to S 16th St. The project is expected to relieve traffic congestion from S Duff Avenue and provide a route across Ioway Creek during flood events. The overall project is expected to improve safety on S Duff Avenue and Lincoln Way as traffic on those sections of roadway is directed to Grand Avenue. The project is a high priority for the City and is expected to open to traffic in late 2019/early 2020.
