Creekview Stormwater Wetland

About

Grant award
$250,000

Total project
$922,000

Description
The Creekview Project redirects several hundred acres of stormwater drainage from the City of Ankeny into a stormwater wetland for water quality improvement before entering Fourmile Creek. It provides a unique partnership between the City of Ankeny, Polk County, and the Fourmile Creek Watershed Management Authority with a local developer.  The developer will donate the land, the county will lead and finance the design and construction, and the city will own and maintain it. This will expand the growing greenway park system that now encompasses nearly 1,000 acres of floodplains along Fourmile Creek. The site will incorporate wetland features in connection with riparian restoration and educational signage.
